Yosemite
From hundred-mile bike rides
and hikes to waterfalls around every corner, Yosemite is a park worth the
drive.
Established on October 1, 1890,
Yosemite was the third national park. Although it wasn’t the first, frequent
visits to the irresistible mountains and rushing rivers by persistent Woodrow
Wilson made Yosemite inspire the idea of national parks. It’s no surprise that Woodrow fell in love
with Yosemite, the towering and smooth granite surface and rough assent of el caption
make it impossible to take your eyes from the sight. Also there are over 400
species of animal living in Yosemite.
Half dome
Half dome got its name from the dome
spherical shape of the back and the smooth cut granite on the front that make
the appearance that the dome was cut in half. The smooth surface also attracts
many adrenalin seeking climbers. The first successful attempt was done by
George g Anderson in 1875. It took him and his crew 2 days but they made it
with flying colors. Even it was accomplished later there would be many victims
to the dome, 13 people have been taken by the dome. But now with modern
climbing tech the accent has been made a little more possible. Today it takes
10 to 12 hours to reach the top.
El
caption
El caption is another vertical face
that attracts climbers. It is known for being extremely dangerous because of
the jagged and unpredictable granite face. The first risky climbers were Warren
Harding, Wayne Merry, and George Whitmore. But when there is great
accomplishment there is great risk, 30 have fallen to the end on el caption.
But the reputation of the caption was beaten by one man when he free soloed it,
which means climbed it with no rope or safety equipment. An accomplishment for
the record books.
Yosemite is as dangerous as it is
beautiful, and is highly recommended by anyone who has visited.
When there is great accomplishment there has been great risk
or even sacrifice
