The Amish - By Graham LaBass

The Amish People        The Amish People are sometimes considered strange or even weird, but they're not. They are normal people living day by day, week by week, and year by year. The only difference is, they are limited by certain standards. So who are they?                             The Schism  Back in 1693 the Menonite church had a Schism. Those who followed Jakob Ammann became known as Amish. The split was over ideas from different religions applying to them. Jakob Ammann thought that they should be able to apply different ideas from religions but others didn't support him. So they split into Amish and Menonite groups within the Anabaptist church. Both  groups went on to become big, but the Amish people became bigger in members. Currently there are over 270,000 members today.    ...

Kirtland Temple (VERBS) By: Pepper LaBass The Kirtland Temple is astonishing, stunning and amazing. I felt the spirit when I was there too!!!!! Facts about Kirtland Temple The fantastic Kirtland temple is the first temple to be build by the very strong pioneers. The outstanding temple is so historical. It is 82,770 ft. The polished white floor is 15,000 sq., ft. (1,400 M2). Holy people went there to visit the temple. They were Jesus Christ, Moses, Elias and Elijah. Heavenly Father told Joseph Smith to build the white, big, beautiful Kirtland Temple. The temple is a National Historic place. The Kirtland Temple is 187 years old!! The temple was built a long time ago. It was built in 1833! I have one more thing. It is what Joseph said!!! What Joseph Smith Said:  "We must have all things prepared and call our solemn assembly as the lord has commanded us that we may be able to accomplish his great work and it must be done in Gods own way the house of the Lord and must be prepared ...

Polar Bears by Pepper L.

By:Pepper Polar Bears🐻 Polar Bears are so fluffy, cute and awesome. They're my favorite animal in the whole entire world too. You know why I love Polar bears so much? It is because they are so astonishing and if you are reading this you will know more why I love Polar bears so much! Polar Bear Facts The first reason why I love polar bears so much is an adult polar bear can be 7.9- 9.8 ft long. A new born polar bear is 30 cm long. A baby polar bear can swim. But not very well. They eat ringed and beard seals and normal seals. They can hold their breath for two minutes. That's a long time. Polar bears can swim for 3.4 days. I wonder if they're tired when they swim that long? Polar bears can also camouflage in the snow because of their fur. They have white fur. So that's how they get their food. While they're going to get food a seal pops up. The Polar bear gets it and eats it. Sometimes they don't get their food.  Did you know that Polar bears are going ext...

Mammoth Cave by Graham LaBass

Mammoth Cave     Caves are the passageways through the earth. They can go from 1 foot to four hundred  miles. Mammoth Cave stretches to this great length. With only four hundred miles charted, cave explorers or “cavers” are discovering different passages every day. This gives Mammoth Cave the well deserved title of the world's longest cave. The Beginning Let's go back about three million years. A small river fueled by rain is slowly carving at the soft limestone. Over the years the small opening gets bigger and bigger. The limestone is carved and shaped. Then after about 3 million years the river's masterpiece is done, over 400 miles  of cave are carved.  The river dries out and the cave is discovered by people. During the war of 1812 slaves mined the opening, looking for a stone called saltpeter. This rock is used to make gunpowder. This was very vidal to the US Army and their almost never ending supply was supporting many troops. T...

Hauns Mill by Graham Labass

The Hauns Mill Massacre                 We all know what a massacre is. Fire, guns, shooting, screaming, and finally death. Such actions should never happen, even if they think they have a good reason. The Hauns Mill Massacre had no good reason to happen, just rumors and lies. Joseph Smith worked day and night to reconstruct and reestablish the only true church. The church got kicked out of city to city traveling thousands of miles just to find a safe place to worship. So what really happened in Hauns Mill?                                What was the Hauns Mill Massacre            Ha...

Liberty Jail by Pepper LaBass

If you are reading this you're going to read about Joseph Smith and other people in a jail called Liberty Jail.  This was very interesting to me when I looked up facts. There's also awesome stories and I hope you like it!!!! By:PepperL Liberty Jail  Joseph Smith was in Liberty Jail for  four and a half months. In prison Joseph Smith was with other people. He was with Hyrum Smith, which was his brother. Lyman Wight, Alexander Mcrae, Caleb Baldwin and Sidney Rigdon were in jail with Joseph Smith. Sidney Rigdon was the guy that complained his way out of Liberty Jail. He left the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints and started a new church. It's called the Church of Christ. Because of Sydney's selfishness and because he left  Liberty Jail everybody was mad at him. Even Joseph Smith was seemed upset at him.  People visited them in jail.  Their families, leaders, Brigham Young, and Heber C Kimbal visited them. Members also gave them clothes,...
